Sacre-Coeur from atop the Arc de Triomphe
Paris at night - Tour Eiffel We had a great time in Paris. We arrived Friday morning, Feb. 26th and spent four and a half days touring Paris getting our cultural fix.

We had a chance to use the little bit of French we had been studying to our advantage. We didn't have many problems getting around or eating. In fact we were able to get along very well but, the real star was Lin. She was speaking French asking for directions, asking where and what to eat and finding out how much everything cost. She was so good she was giving directions to a group of Orientals and train directions in French to another group.

We all ended up with a job to do. Lin was "Francas Girl" speaking the French, Bob was "Metro Boy". He would take us down into the Metro, spin us around and we would pop up at a new museum, historic site or great restaurant. Dave was "History Boy", he would come up with an answer to any question. Most of them sounded good. Who knew, who could remember, who really cared. Sharlene was "Party Girl". She made sure we all had a really good time. Mostly on free cheap wine.

We toured the historic sites, viewed the art work in the museums, ate lunch in the gardens of kings and sculptors at Versailles and Rodin's "Party House" and would return every night to Rue Mouffetard and a different French restaurant for dinner.

We loved Rue Mouffetard, the area where we stayed. A quaint little street filled with shops of all kinds, open air markets selling fresh fruits and vegetables, meats and seafood, and fine restaurants.

After checking into our hotel on Friday, we took the Metro to St. Chapelle. From there to the Arc de Triomphe. We took the stairs to the top for a panoramic view of Paris. When you get there don't miss this view. Continue.....
